Our visit to Cape Town

Wow so many things has happen in the last month.

Let’s start with Cape Town. While Danie was still in the US my friend Christine and I took the kids to the aquarium. They loved it. It was really interesting to hear about the African penguins and the spots on their bodies being like a fingerprint. Not one of them the same as the next one.

The children really loved african-penguinwatching the big fish in the the huge tanks and even Jac was impressed with it all.

We also went to Wellington for the SAD race. No, we did not run the half marathon but at the end of the day it seemed liked I had. My brother, Schalk and his wife Milan together with my sister in law Christelle and my friend Christine ran the marathon. I was looking after seven children while they did.

In the end we were rewarded with Lollos. For those of you who do not know who Lollos is. He is kind of like “Barney” but just the blue Afrikaans version of it.

This was the highlight of the day for all the children. Singing and dancing with Lollos and the surprise appearance of Lettie, his girlfriend.

Jac totally fell in love with both of them. Zane said he was to old, but he even went up to go and touch him. So deep down in his heart he was not too old for Lollos.

And then finally Danie came home. We could not wait another second. The children made some posters for him to have at the airport. All of them were bathed and dressed in their new pyjamas and gowns ready to meet their daddy.

On my birthday on the 5th of May I received cupcakes from our Sending Cell . It was a wonderful surprise and extremely delicious. We were planning to go on top of Table mountain but the cloud was over the mountain so we went to Houtbay instead. We had a really great day, walking between the boats, feeding the huge seal and eating fish and chips.

It was a wonderful birthday. Maybe my last one in South Africa for a while

So this was Cape Town.
