A brand new year in a new town and new challenges

Christmas has come and gone.  We had a very relaxed day and spent it with old friend from ASM.  Sei Yon and Mikyung and their daughters,    Ye rin and Ye rang.  Here are some pictures of our Christmas.

2013 we entered with a bang, decisions decisions?  do we put the children in school this year to concentrate on Jac’s early intervention therapy and assisting to open up a special needs school in Thabazimbi.  Well the decision was made to put the kids in school for the time being.  It was a very hard decision for us to make as I really enjoy teaching the children and wanted the best for them.

So the kids are off to school each morning now and new routines are hard to get use too. It is up early in the morning and getting everything ready for school etc.  I was very tired in the beginning, still getting use to this.  The children enjoy school a lot and I am glad that they are happy – not too glad though I miss them during the day.

With Jac we have started with the SNAP program.  I have found a wonderful person in the name of Naleta Visser who is guiding me on this process.  I went for training in Pretoria and now I am an facilitator for Jac.  SNAP is Special Needs Adapted Program and is really amazing.  It incorporates nearly all of the different types of Autism intervention.   I have started working with Jac with amazing results.  His communication is getting better on a daily basis and his Afrikaans is really improving. (He was speaking English most of the time)

Nêo-Rie asked me the other day why God made Jac English and the rest of us Afrikaans – I did not have an answer to that question!
